Terms of Reference:

The driver under the overall supervision of the Project Coordinator will:

  • Drive office vehicle for the transport of authorized personnel;

  • Clear shipments from the customs and deliver to the consignee;

  • Deliver and collect mail, documents and other items as required;

  • Meet official personnel at the airport and facilitate immigration and customs formalities as required;

  • Maintain on a daily basis of the assigned vehicle (checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.). Ensure that vehicle is in good running condition, perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs and ensure that the vehicle is kept clean;

  • Log official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil change, greasing, etc., and submit a compete vehicle history monthly including repairs, service and maintenance;

  • Ensure that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accident;

  • Act in accordance with the UN Security Planning if required;

  • Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Project Coordinator in his area of substantive competence.

Background:

Qualifications: Secondary education, Minimum 5 years of driving experience with a safe driving record. B,C,D categories driver’s license. First aid knowledge is an advantage.

Languages: Good knowledge of Russian for daily communication. Preference will be given to English proficiency. Knowledge of Kyrgyz would be an advantage.

Health condition: Good health and eyesight are required. Work occasionally involves lifting heavy loads.
