Bishkek, April 5 2013 – A consultative meeting devoted to the cost of domestic violence was held in Bishkek today with participation of the experts, representatives of ministries and agencies, nongovernmental and international organizations.  The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the results of a study conducted to develop a methodology for assessment of the economic impact of domestic violence.

UNHCR helps vulnerable people with warm clothes Send to a friend Print Version

17 January, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan – UNHCR has distributed warm clothing to more than 25,000 vulnerable people from across Kyrgyzstan this season. Almost 30 tons of clothes were distributed to children and adults. State social departments helped UNHCR distribute more than 87,000 items of UNIQLO warm clothes donated by Japan Relief Clothing Centre.

Sanitary Conditions for Nearly 3,000 Prisoners Improved in Kyrgyzstan Send to a friend Print Version
Bishkek, 16 January 2013 - The State Prison Service of the Kyrgyz Republic is completing the reconstruction and renovation of bath and laundry facilities in four of its prisons. With these new facilities, the Prison Service will be able to provide 2,777 prisoners with better sanitary conditions.
