This Flash Appeal addresses the needs of more than one million people affected by violent conflict in southern Kyrgyzstan in June 2010. The revised Flash Appeal requests $96,445,737 for urgent humanitarian support.

The UN System in the Kyrgyz Republic has an excellent record in formulating and implementation of joint programmes. In 2009, the following joint programmes were successfully implemented in the country:

In 2009, the UN system has successfully formulated the One UN Programme. It is a two-year response of the UN system to the effects of energy, food and economic insecurities in the country. In 2009, the UN provided technical advice and expertise to address gaps in national policies and strategies. This function is traditionally the mandate of UN Theme Groups. The UNCT has four Theme Groups operating under its umbrella - Gender Theme Group, HIV/AIDS Theme Group, Communication Working Group, Operation and Management Working Group.
