Joint Programmes

The purpose of Joint Programmes implementation is raise effectiveness and efficiency gains by increasing coherence, synergy, and impact when two or more agencies address a common result and reduce duplication; and reducing transaction costs for government, donors and other partners by using common programming, coordination, operations and reporting processes and tools.

A Joint Programme is a set of activities contained in a common work plan and related budget. The workplan and budget form part of a joint programme document that also outlines roles and responsibilities for coordinating and managing the Joint Programme. A Joint Programme involves two or more UN organizations and national and sub-national partners.
