Since 2010, WFP has been conducting a nation-wide Food Security Assessment (FSA) twice a year to provide a timely evidence-based planning of food and nutrition security interventions, as well as to analyze the food security dynamics and trends throughout the country.
The assessment revealed that an estimated 24% of households (4% severely food insecure, 20% moderately food insecure) were found to be food insecure. This means that about 1.3 million people were food insecure during the March 2013 assessment.
