The UN System in the Kyrgyz Republic has an excellent record in formulating and implementation of joint programmes. In 2009, the following joint programmes were successfully implemented in the country:

•  Enhancing Coordination for Disaster Response in the Kyrgyz Republic
• Operationalizing Good Governance for Social Justice
• Action 2 Piloting in the Kyrgyz Republic
• Strengthening the Ombudsman Institution
• Violence Against Women  (VAW)

In a continual effort to improve aid effectiveness and timely support to the host Government, the UN system in Kyrgyzstan has designed an One UN Programme (2010 – 2011), which is the framework for planning and response of the UN system to address the effects of energy and food insecurity and the global economic crisis on the most vulnerable in the country. The One Programme builds on the commitments of the current United Nations Development Assistance Framework 2005-2011 (UNDAF).
